I will be the first to admit I thought something like this was going to happen. The fact that in such a controlling society there would be one room that they could find without a telescreen was just too perfect. The fact that Mr. Charrington is a part of the Thought Police however, never crossed my mind. I just took him for an old man wanting to make some money and do his job. Although, Julia and Winston were bound to be caught one way or another.
Because Julia was beaten more so than Winston at the time of their capture; I have a feeling the Thought Police do not have a great use for her, and they will most likely kill her. However, I also think there is the possibility that maybe one of Thought Police that found them, Julia had an earlier affair with one of them, and they used this opportunity to beat her for her on going affair with Winston.
Due to the fact that Winston was not abused in the same manner as Julia, I feel that they will try and get information out of him. They could possibly use Julia beat Julia in front of him to make him give up information on the Brotherhood. Also, they could try and link him and O'Brien, and use him for information on other members of the Brotherhood. In the end, Winston and Julia will be separated. The one thing they could not agree to when askied by O'Brien. This will cause Winston to become very depressed, and he will most likely commit suicide for not being with Julia.
